Access Up To $175,000
for your project's Balconies
Canadian developers are invited to bid for funding in two project transformation grants worth up to $175,000, funding design and collaborative installation of
Sapphire's Glide-On™ Cassette® balconies.
Resibuild in partnership with Antamex Partner Systems and Sapphire Balconies
have created the Transforming Condo Construction Grant
to introduce an innovative way of design and install condo balconies in Canada.
The Transforming Condo Construction Grant focuses on new modern methods of construction and digitizing projects.
UK based Sapphire Balconies and Canadian façade building industry experts Antamex Industries are providing the funding in two rounds. You can apply to either or both if you have more than two qualifying projects.
Transforming Condo Construction Grant.
The purpose for the grant is to showcase a new modern method of constructing balconies that speeds up design, improves build time, increases productivity and reduces overall C02 levels
in line with Canada's Net-Zero plans.
ROUND TWO
Project start date
In 6 to 12 months
Summary
This round is for projects that are expected to start in 6 to 12 months and are possibly at early design stage.
Scope
The purpose of the funding is to provide financial support in innovative construction projects that
showcase the unique benefits Sapphire's Glide-On™ Cassette® balconies can deliver to the
Canadian Construction industry. Funded projects will result in practical and close-to-market solutions that highlight the productivity gains and all around improvement in quality and thermal performance.
Easier design process
From concept to completion, Sapphire's Glide-On balconies allow for a faster, simpler and smoother specification journey.
Offsite prefabrication
Faster project schedules, cost certainty and superior quality. All reasons to be on the cutting edge of residential construction.
Fast installation on site
The recent pandemic has shone an even greater spotlight on the need to address productivity within the construction industry.
Zero energy homes
With construction trends looking towards Net Zero Energy homes, we aim to illustrate what is already been achieving in UK Construction.
The Transforming Condo Construction Fund has several stakeholders and activities that are complementary to the programme. Applicants are strongly advised to liaise with relevant stakeholders as part of the application process. Successful projects will be expected to work with these stakeholders, which include:
-
Antamex Partner Systems and its subsidiaries
-
Sapphire Balconies
We also suggest you review our published report into Canadian Condo Balcony Trends in 2021.
We are looking to fund a selection of projects of all sizes, scope areas, spend profiles.
Allocation of funding is based on three key deciding factors: Speed of completion, Complexity of design and Size of the overall project. The purpose of funding is to showcase the benefits and advantages of this new modern method of constructing condo balconies.
The total fund of $100,000 is intended for both Round 1 and Round 2. If enough projects in Round One allow us to achieve our goals, the funding will be used in Round 1 and Round 2 will be closed.
How the funding can be used
Funding for each chosen project can be used against the cost of design, manufacture and installation of Sapphire's Glide-On™ Cassette® balconies. We will work with the chosen projects to manage the funding over the entire process from design to install.
Funded
Design
There are big advantages to using standardised design. At Sapphire, we have created our Cassette® system on the principle of modular construction.
Your Project & Proposal
-
Your project must be located in Canada.
-
Your project must be a multi-unit residential building (MURB).
Selection Process
Our panel of assessors will review each application against the three deciding factors of estimated project completion date, complexity of balcony design and the size of the overall project.
Estimated completion date
-
Projects in Round One will be allocated funding first.
-
Preference will be first given to projects underway and at cast-in stage
Complexity of balcony design
-
Projects that require less design hours will be given preference.
-
A preference will be given to projects that utilise the balcony software suite Coach.
Size of project
-
We believe the ideal project will have between 8* and 14* balconies
-
The build would ideally be a three to six storey MURB (Multi-unit residential building).
Announcement of winning bids
Once the reviews are completed, an announcement will be made via email and on this page. We will announce which projects have been funded, how much each project has been awarded and if further funds will be available for Round Two.
Eligibility
Our goal is to find the most suitable projects in Canada to fund.
